Director
Thomas is the Private Banking team head of a large Jersey Bank and has been associated with football since he was a young boy. Irish by birth, Thomas was brought up in Guernsey and represented Guernsey at every level from a school boy to the senior side. Thomas also played semi professional football on the south coast of England during the 90’s before settling in Jersey 15 years ago and finishing out his playing days in a more relaxed environment. Thomas now coaches the young children of local club side St Brelade. Working for prominent local banks Thomas has covered the East African region and in particular Kenya with a focus on Nairobi for the last 10 years. He has many contacts and friends from his visits over the years.
Thomas has recently agreed to join the board of the charity to advise on structure, marketing, fund raising and profile raising of the charity using his football and work knowledge and contacts.
“When I was approached by Ricky about assisting on some fund raising I noticed his passion and commitment to the charity from day one. This child like enthusiasm is like a breath of fresh air and really makes you sit up and listen to his endeavours. You can see how far he has taken the charity in the last few years on a shoe string budget, which is simply incredible. Looking at the pictures and reading the stories is heartbreaking but so uplifting by the difference even one person can make. With my football and work background I was delighted to help in any way I could. I felt enormous pride to be asked to become a director of the charity and I hope that I can move the charity to the next level alongside Ricky and the other valuable team members. The main aims are to help these children, change their lives and to make a difference. However small you feel that difference is, please make it, as it could change a life forever”
